I was saying before that issue based theatre doesn't really date. Well I thought I would share some of the audience reactions from the show so far.
'An updated farce slickly performed!'
'The best comedy that Chickenshed has ever done! You have to see it!'
'Totally madcap!'
'Funny, energetic, clever and positive'
'Very entertaining, an excellent evening out'
I took them from the Chickenshed website. I think it proves there is a want and more so a need for this kind of production. This has furthered my drive to explore the lifespan of issue based plays even further.
Yes but the website is also there as a promotional site to market the play? Most theatres try to promote their plays to their audiences? The evidence might be that the Chickenshed has chosen to produce the play in the frst place - how was that decision making done?

ReplyDeleteYes I think there is certainly a promotional element to it but I should have mentioned that a lot of the feedback was actually in person. The best proof was when we managed to keep a school audience quiet for an entire two hours. These are the toughest groups of people to engage yet they sat there entertained.
ReplyDeleteAs for the reason of their selection of the play I believe it was an attempt to put on something relatively well-known and something that could be considered relevant.
